Job Title: ​Assistant Manager


​Assistant Manager required at Quarry Mount Residential Care Home Swindon

​Quarry Mount Care Home in Swindon is a warm, friendly caring home. We have an opportunity available to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated person in the role of Assistant Manager.


A suitable candidate will provide support to the Registered Manager.


As Assistant Manager you will provide support to the registered Manager across all aspects of management, providing a safe, customer focused and hospitable environment for residents and visitors.

​The key responsibilities of our Assistant Manager include:​

  • ​Supporting the Home Manager in the implementation of all policies, procedures, quality assurance and meeting business objectives.
  • ​Supporting the training and development of all staff, including induction of new staff.
  • ​Encouraging the practice for the resident’s well-being and social interaction.
  • Promoting good communication between residents, families, staff and other professional’s that are involved in the home.​
  • Positively promote and assist marketing the service to potential new residents.​
  • Liaising with the Registered Manager and Director/s across the range of operational activity,
  • Being able to oversee the service during the Manager’s absence.
  • A key role within the home, is taking the time to get to know our residents and their families so that you can assist with validating the decisions that are made about their care.
  • You will oversee and assist every aspect of the care and activities within the home, including developing and updating care plans and maintaining clear, accurate auditing records.
  • You will provide valuable support, guidance and assistance to the rest of our care team.
  • You’ll ensure adequate staffing is always maintained within the home through efficient management of staff rotas, and from time to time, will provide cover if necessary, as required.
  • Above all, it’s about ensuring our residents overall well-being is at the core of everything you do.
  • Participate in the on call system and in the Registered Manager’s absence, deal with any issue’s or emergencies out of working hrs.

​About You:

  • You’ll be an experienced Carer with at least an S/NVQ/QCF Level 3 in Health & Social Care.​
  • You’ll also have leadership and recruitment experience in a care home, as well as knowledge of national standards and person centred care planning.

Job Title: Activities / Events Coordinator


Activities / Events Coordinator required at Quarry Mount Residential Care Home Swindon

Quarry Mount Care Home in Swindon is a converted Victorian House with an extension. We have a
homely and welcoming atmosphere and a genuine community feel.

Have you worked with those with dementia before? Are you available to work at least 35 hours a week over 5 days, to help enhance the mental and physical wellbeing of those in our care? 
If so, we would like to hear from you!

Duties will include:

  • Organising a variety of activities to suit all needs, such as games, crafts, singing & dancing, armchair exercises, gardening club etc.
  • Overseeing themed days plus planning for events & outings
  • Providing stimulation and encouragement to residents
  • Arranging a programme with a variety of regular entertainers
  • Working to develop links with people and organisations within our local community

The ideal candidate will need to be:

  • Well organised, self motivated and enthusiastic 
  • Able to work on own initiative and also be a good team player
  • Required to keep up to date with relevant documentation including record keeping, risk assessment, health and safety at work etc.
  • Computer literate with at least some basic IT skills
  • Full Drivers Licence would also be an advantage

Job Title: ​Maintenance Coordinator

​Maintenance Coordinator required at Quarry Mount Residential Care Home Swindon

​Quarry Mount Care Home in Swindon have an opportunity available to recruit an experienced, knowledgeable and dedicated Maintenance Coordinator to join our team.

A suitable candidate will provide our general maintenance services for our premises and grounds.

You will need to hold a full driving license and demonstrate to us you have a good understanding, knowledge and experience for a wide range of skills required in this area.

We will provide full induction, including necessary mandatory training, such as Health & Safety etc.

Your key responsibilities as our Maintenance Coordinator will include:

​Routine Maintenance Duties:


  • ​Small repairs

  • ​Carpentry

  • ​Small plumbing and equipment repairs

  • ​Carrying out external low level works.

  • ​Keep logs of temperatures etc to boiler flow rates under ACOPS legionella legislation.

  • Check boiler rooms daily.

  • Take meter readings as required.

  • Inspect and maintain all internal and external public areas.

  • Clear blocked drains.

  • Oversee and work with external contractors that may undertake work within the residence.

  • Care for equipment and tools belonging to the residence.

  • Prioritise work orders and any other duties requested from the Director and Manager/s

  • No major electric works shall be undertaken apart from small repairs including socket, plug/bulb replacement.

  • Check the building for any issues internal/external and report major issues or plan in minor works and carry out repairs.

  • Decorate as required and prepare rooms/apartments to a good standard.

  • Discuss costings for repairs/renewals with Manager/s or Director.

  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with all residents, family, visitors and colleagues.

  • Work is varied and you need to be efficient and self motivated to schedule your tasks effectively.

  • Be willing during occasional emergency situations to be called out to support staff/Manager if required.

Salary : ​40 hours per week - £9.70 per hour 08.00-16.00 working 5 days over 7, but some variation may be required.
