The main building was originally a Victorian town house built in the 1870's and then much extended in the 1970's and 1980's. The accommodation is set out over three floors connected by stairs and a shaft lift. The house accommodates 28 residents, there are several bathrooms / WCs and the ground floor includes a large lounge, a dining room, a lounge/diner a conservatory (added in 2007) as well as a commercial kitchen (fully re-fitted in 2008).

A feature of the home is a pair of semi-detached bungalows in its rear grounds. These provide a homely "assisted living "environment for 4 less dependant people, with the benefit of access to all the facilities of the main house. Each bungalow has a lounge/diner, a twin/double bedroom, a galley kitchen and a bathroom (with a bath or a shower).

The home has a lovely secure, south-facing garden with lawns, borders, patios and plenty of seating.
